Irving is from Bocas Island and has been a PADI Open
Water Scuba Instructor  since March of 2006. Irving’s favorite
dive site is Sashen and he enjoys “meeting new people and
introducing them to the underwater world.”
Freddy is from Bastimentos Island and has been  a PADI Divemaster
since November of 2006. Freddie’s favorite dive site is Polo Beach and
says that he enjoys pointing out the abundant marine life such as
lobsters, crabs, and moray eels. Freddie is an expert at locating those
“hard to find” critters.
Hector is from Bocas Town and is a PADI Open Water Scuba
Instructor. Hector’s favorite dive site is The Garden but he enjoys all of
the dive sites in the area. Hector enjoys traveling, recently returning
from a trip to Switzerland.
Modesto is from Changuinola and is a captain for Bocas
Water Sports.  Modesto recently completed his Open Water
and Advanced Open Water certification courses and aspires
to become a divemaster or instructor. Modesto has a
passion for bicycles and is an excellent bicycle mechanic.
Chance, also known as “Scubadog,” Chance is the official mascot of Bocas Water Sports.
Chance was rescued from a shelter in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Chance enjoys sleeping,
walking, and watching Animal Planet (although he is not a big fan of old episodes of
Crocodile Hunter).
Jon
Jon Schneiderman originally hails from Bloomington, Indiana although he spent most of his
life in Miami, Florida. Before moving to Bocas Jon worked as a full time lecturer in
composition and English literature at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. Jon has
been a PADI professional since 1994 and is a PADI Mater Scuba Diver Trainer, certifying
hundreds of divers in the Florida Keys, the Bahamas, and Belize. He also holds his United
States Coast Guard 100 Ton Master Mariner’s license and has captained dive boats
throughout the Caribbean.   Jon’s passion is protecting the marine environment and he has
been actively involved in installing environmental moorings in the Bahamas, Belize, and
Puerto Rico. Jon has also participated in sea turtle conservation projects and has done
volunteer work for the Caribbean Conservation Corp.
Stacy
Stacy Schneiderman is originally from Los Angeles, California and spent many years as a
registered nurse, specializing in emergency room nursing.  She is a Certified Emergency
Nurse and her medical training makes the safe sport of scuba diving even safer at Bocas
Water Sports. Stacy is an avid diver and enjoys the tranquil dive sites found in the Bocas
archipelago. Stacy enjoys beading, rubber stamping/card making, and collecting mermaid
memorabilia (ask to see her new mermaid tattoo!).  Stacy believes it is important to be a part
of the Bocas community and uses her beading talents to make jewelry to raise funds for
BESO, an organization dedicated to raising funds for local school children.
                                                Our Crew
Bocas Water Sports is committed to training and hiring native Panamanians. We believe it is
one way that we can help contribute to our small community. We also believe that it gives our
guests an opportunity to interact with local citizens and to learn about local customs and
culture.
Leandro is from Changuinola and is one of our divemasters.  His
favorite dive sites are Polo Beach and Crawl Cay, where he has
recently reported seeing two seahorses.  When he is not diving,
Leandro likes to play chess and draw.
